We already know that "Black Friday" or "Black Friday" is an American tradition that consists of a drop in prices in the main shops, during the last Friday of November, coinciding with the opening of Christmas shopping. But what is the origin of this celebration?
The first use of the term "Black Friday" was given, not to refer to Christmas shopping, but in relation to an economic crisis: on Friday, September 24, 1869, two implacable Wall Street financiers, Jay Gould and Jim Fisk, after hard work to make big profits, they failed in their endeavor, and the market went bankrupt. For this reason, that day was named "Black Friday".
Another of the stories that accompany the term "Black Friday" has to do with the role of small businesses in the market. Tradition tells that, after a whole year of losses (that is, red numbers), finally, after Thanksgiving, the Christmas season arrived, the day from which the benefits began, and with them, instead of red numbers, "black numbers" were produced.
Others claim that its origin dates back to November 19, 1975, the day the New York Times first coined the adjective “black” to refer to the traffic disruption and chaos that had occurred in New York City. York in that year, due to discounts on the day after Thanksgiving.

El primer uso del término “Black Friday” se dio, no para referirse a las compras de Navidad, sino en relación a una crisis económica: el viernes 24 de septiembre de 1869, dos implacables financieros de Wall Street, Jay Gould y Jim Fisk, tras un intenso trabajo por conseguir grandes beneficios, fracasaron en su empeño, y el mercado entró en bancarrota. Por ello, se nombró a ese día como el “viernes negro”.
Otra de las historias que acompañan al término “Black Friday” tiene que ver con el papel de los pequeños comercios en el mercado. La tradición cuenta que, tras un año entero de pérdidas (es decir, números rojos), por fin, tras el día de Acción de Gracias, llegaba la época navideña, día a partir del cual comenzaban los beneficios, y con ellos, en lugar de números rojos, se producían “números negros”.
Otros afirman que su origen se remonta al 19 de noviembre de 1975, día en el que el New York Times acuñó por primera vez el adjetivo de “negro” para referirse al desbarajuste del tránsito y el caos que se había dado en la ciudad de Nueva York en aquel año, debido a los descuentos del día posterior a Acción de Gracias.

Los maestros de este cole seguimos en constante evolución y reciclaje. Este curso hemos comenzado a usar la aplicación plickers. Se trata de una aplicación en la que se descargan unos códigos (cada alumno tiene el suyo y son todos diferentes). A continuación se muestran en la pizarra digital una serie de preguntas con 4 posibles opciones. El alumno levantará su código con la respuesta que crea correcta hacia arriba. En ese momento el maestro con la cámara de su tablet, que tiene instalada la aplicación, recoge los resultados. Automáticamente el alumno verá en la pizarra si su elección ha sido correcta o en qué pregunta ha fallado. Ha resultado ser una herramienta muy práctica que, sin duda, seguiremos utilizando.
